Swing away

The advantages of having a swing bridge was that it swing from side to side and it wouldn't break. It was designed to hold people who are hiking. It was also a good design because it had good colours.

I didn't get enough time to finish It and because It wasn't finished it looked weird.

Disco

This diso was on 17th Augast 2012. I thought I would hang out with boys not girls because I was hanging out with girls the most. I had a good night.

Speech

I wrote my speech on the 1931 Napier Earthquake. i enjoyed doing this project. I started my speech with my mihi. I thought  it was hard to pronounce but my speech was easier. the class said i had good eye contact and volume. I persevered and was confident. I had clear content and information. thay also said it was well practiced and personalised. the class wished next time I had better pace and fluency. next time I deliver a speech I will practice my mihi a bit more.

native birds art work

When we made native birds, we choose a bird and we used pastels I chose a takahe a takahe is like a pukeko. Firstly we traced around a native bird and then I used a pencil to do the wings and features of the bird. Next we coloured it in with the base colours and then we did the background. Then we dyed it with the colours that suited the picture and the colour I chose for my takahe.

What I liked about my takahe is that it turned out the way I wanted it to.

What I could of done better is coloured neater.

What was bad about my takahe was nothing.

My holidays.

At the beginning of the holidays I went into the hospital for an operation. I stayed in there for 5 days. 

When I was in hospital it was Easter. I got 4 Easter bunnies and 1 big egg. They were from my Nana, Miss Nichol and one from the hospital staff. I am keeping some for later. 

I got out of the hospital on Monday 9th April and came home. I spent the next few days in bed watching movies. 

On Tuesday I went back to boost. When I was at boost I was busy doing activities. I also liked sleeping in the weekends. 

My holidays were a bit boring, I am happy to be back at school.

One day what I was at school the most dangerous thing happened.I was with my teacher aide Holly and we relised whilst we were in between classrooms that the front wheel of my wheelchair was missing a screw.

Holly and I were watching the wheel so it did not fall off. My wheelchair was unstable until my Dad came and fixed it.then I felt so sad that I stayed with Holly until morning tea had finished. I felt sad because it could have caused a nasty accident where I could have ended up very hurt and I also would have been embarressed.

My mum came and found me in the ditch. She asked if I was alright then I said no so she took me to the hospital.The Doctor asked me if I was alright. Then I stayed there for a few days. I was sore.

why people drive cars

We drive cars so we can get to the place quickly.

There are little and big cars. There can be lots of passengers in the big car. The boot of the big car needs to carry heavy thing.

The little car carries less petrol.The little car holds less petrol so it costs less money.

the seat belts are safer so you don't go through the window.

How calipers work

I walk with my calipers on my legs so they can help me stand up. There are different parts on my calipers and they are colourful. They have rectangle holes at the bottom of the shoes. The black straps are really long, they are velcro. The metal sticks can bend. They are strong and straight.The top bit is the colourful bit where the straps go. They can support me when I'm standing up. Why do i need them? So I don't need my wheelchair.

HOW TO MAKE POTTERY

Pottery is made out of clay. A potter is a person who makes things out of clay. When the pottery wheel spins around then you can twist and you can make whatever you can make out of clay.

The kiln is a hot oven, so if you touch the kiln you will get burt. The clay will get hard so it won't break. The special paint is a glaze paint. when the paint is dry then you put your pot in the oven. People have to make pottery so others people can buy it.
